Created by the Stroum Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Washington, the Mapping Memory project follows the paths of Jewish refugees around the time of the Second World War (1939-1945). Based on interviews and memoirs, these narratives track refugees’ journeys across war-torn Europe as their homes and identities were threatened by the advancing Nazi war machine. It includes various paths of refugees that users can follow as well as an interactive map.
