The JewishGen Yizkor Book Project, a sub-project of parent website JewishGen, is an effort to facilitate access to yizkor, mostly Central and Eastern European memorial books created by groups of former residents who published these books as a tribute to their former homes and the people who were murdered during the Holocaust. In addition to community-led translation efforts, the JewishGen Yizkor Book Project includes a bibliographic database that attempts to list all yizkor known to exist, as well as many other books written about a particular community. As of November 2021, the database contains the titles of over 1,000 books held in various locations. In order to access JewishGen's databases, users first need to create a free account.
