German Jewish Cultural Heritage (GJCH) is a discontinued interdisciplinary scientific project that lasted from approximately 2015 to 2018 and was dedicated to the recognition, examination and preservation of the cultural heritage of German Jewry in German-speaking countries as well as in the countries of emigration from the 19th century onward. A website and a database were planned to provide the foundation for a networked collaboration on a long-term basis between as many international institutions as possible. The project's aim was to save documents from decay and to make immediate global access to historically valuable primary sources possible. While it appears that funding for the project came from the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media [Der Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien], as well as the Federal Foreign Office [Auswärtiges Amt], it is unknown where this project's materials came from or what happened to the material after the website was shut down.
