The Comprehensive Aramaic Lexicon (CAL) Project is a work-in-progress text base of the Aramaic texts in all dialects from the 9th Century BCE to the 13th Century CE. With approximately 3 million lexically parsed words, and an associated set of electronic tools for analyzing and manipulating the data, the ultimate goal of the project is the creation of a complete lexicon of the language. Supported by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, USA, the CAL search page is a tool for scholarly research that allows users to browse the Lexicon and to search for glosses and citations as well as viewing the collection of the most important Aramaic texts along with their lexical analysis. The project is the online version of a new dictionary of the Aramaic language, entitled The Comprehensive Aramaic Lexicon, which is currently in preparation by an international team of scholars.
