A collection of the New York Public Library's Dorot Jewish Division, the American Jewish Committee Oral History Collection holds the only complete compilation of transcripts and recordings from a 25-year project that began in the 1960s by the American Jewish Committee (AJC). The collection contains interviews with 2,250 individuals -- comprising approximately 156,000 pages of transcripts and 6,000 hours of audiotapes from the AJC's interviews with individuals from all walks of life, thereby compiling a collection of oral histories documenting the Jewish experience in America. 350 transcripts of these interviews have been scanned and digitized and are available online through the NY Public Library's Digital Collections.
