The Visual History Archive (WHA) workshop, "The role of the Visual History Archive for multidisciplinary teaching and research" was hosted by the University of Southern California (USC) Shoah Foundation and ProQuest online on October 27, 2020. This event, initially scheduled to be held in-person at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, on March 26, 2020, was postponed due to COVID-19.

The VHA is a fully streaming multimedia collection of 55,000 primary source testimonies of survivors and witnesses of genocide, including the European Holocaust, and other global conflicts or events. It is the largest digital collection of its kind, with interviews conducted throughout 62 countries, in 40 languages, among 30 experience groups, and supports many disciplines.

The session covered recent developments within the VHA, as well as developments for 2020 to support teaching and new research in these disciplines even further, including examples of research based on the VHA to show research process and output.
