The digitisation of Jewish Cultural Heritage creates new challenges and opens up new opportunities for both cultural memory institutions and academic research. In this dynamic phase of digital transformation, open exchange between projects and actors from the (digital) humanities as well as from computer science is essential. To create a space for such an open exchange and for collaborative experiment, the Network for Digital Humanities at the University of Potsdam, together with the Moses Mendelssohn Center for European-Jewish Studies and the Fellows Yael Netzer, Itay Marienberg-Milikowsky, and Gerben Zaagsma is hosting a DH Jewish Hackathon from 15th to 18th September 2022 in Potsdam.

We hereby warmly invite scholars, computer scientists, data managers, librarians, archivists, artists, activists and everybody interested in the field of Digital Jewish Heritage to actively participate in our Hackathon.

It is possible to register as a participant only, as well as to submit proposals for challenges and sessions. Furthermore, you can also get involved as a data partner. No matter in which form you like to attend, please send an email to digital-humanities@uni-potsdam.de no later than September 1, 2022. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

For more detailed information on the "Hackathon" format, on what  "Challenges" and "Sessions" are, and on the submission procedure, please visit the website: https://www.uni-potsdam.de/digital-humanities/dhjewish-hackathon.
