The 17th World Congress of Jewish Studies was held from August 6 -10, 2017 at the Mount Scopus Campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, marking 70 years since the 1st Congress was held in 1947. Over 2000 people participated in the Congress, which featured roughly 1700 lectures in many diverse fields of Jewish Studies, as well as cultural events and a book fair. Notably, for the first time at the Congress, digital humanities experts presented the newest development in the field of Digital Jewish Studies.
