Jan Burzlaff is the William A. Ackman Fellow for Holocaust Studies at Harvard University, USA, and the 2021-2022 Dori Laub Fellow at Yale University. Burzlaff graduated from Paris 1 (BA) and EHESS (MA). He is also a graduate from ENS Paris (normalien étudiant.) He is currently completing his dissertation, the first transnational and comparative history of Jewish survival during the Holocaust, both in Western and Eastern Europe. It included digital mapping of Jews' choices, hiding places, and survival trajectories. Further areas of interest are interdisciplinary approaches with the social sciences, comparative genocide, and global histories of violence. His latest articles have appeared in Contemporary European History and Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
